Arts Academy Production Manager
Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy in Ogunquit, ME is seeking an enthusiastic Production Manager for their 2025 Summer education programming. The Arts Academy and Education Department dedicates itself to the continuing development of programming that will both teach and inspire youth looking to follow a path in the Arts. Employment dates are June 15 to August 25.
Ideal Candidate must have strong leadership skills while remaining detail-oriented, forward thinking, and efficient in a fast-paced working environment. Past Theatrical Production Manager, Stage Manager or Technical Supervisor experience is preferred. Prior children’s theatre experience is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, professional training and experience, or equivalent in the performing arts
Experience working with students aged 5-18 representing a diverse population while being able to cater to a wide range of abilities
Committed and passionate about musical theatre and arts education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Collaborate and coordinate with Technical Director, Production Manager and Associate, Education Director, Arts Academy Stage Managers and staff, Designers and other main stage staff to develop and execute the program assigned
Available for entire Summer session contract, including, but not limited to, planning and production meetings
Job Duties/Expectations include, but not limited to…
Work closely with the OP Production Manager, liaising as necessary with Changeovers and scheduling
Assist with managing the Artistic and Technical needs for each Arts Academy production
Act as a contact for all Arts Academy designers and creative team members, ensuring design deadlines are met for Arts Academy shows, up to 4 Main Stage shows and 5 smaller shows on our Colony Stage
Schedule and lead Arts Academy Production meetings
Ensure prompt payment of Arts Academy invoices and assist in ordering any necessary materials for departments
Assist the Education Director in managing the departmental budgets
Ability to lift, carry, and move necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions
Greet students upon arrival for all rehearsals/performances/workshops, when requested
Check in students in accordance with protocol set forth by the Education Director, when requested
Check students out, after all daily rehearsals/performances/workshops are complete, when requested. • Attending all Load-ins and Load-outs, final strike and restore of all Arts Academy Main Stage shows, Rising Stars, Center Stage shows, Workshops and events
Together with Stage Management Team, lead the Arts Academy staff in the set-up of the rehearsal space for all Arts Academy camps/shows/events
Familiar with Q-Lab, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Position is a W2, $19-20 /hr with overtime, travel stipend, and housing
