SPOT OP / ELECTRICIANS

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Spot Op / Electricians for our 2025 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April and November.

Ideal Candidate

Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required. 

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to)…

  • Startup, checkout, and shutdown procedures for each show (8 shows/week)

  • Operate spots while maintaining design integrity of each show

  • Assist the Head Electrician and Assistant Head Electrician with execution of lighting plots

  • Participate in weekly work calls

  • Support with repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conventional and automated lighting equipment

  • Assist with rehearsals, load-in, strike, tech rehearsals, and previews

  • Additional hours running events and Arts Academy shows

  • Rigging, ladder work, and lift experience required

  • Opportunities for work with Arts Academy possible

  • Unconventional hours may be required. Must be able to work overnights for Tech Weeks (typically four 12-hr shifts) for each production

Position is a W2, $19 /hr plus overtime and housing

Ogunquit Playhouse now offers Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee’s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the Ogunquit Playhouse’s entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
