SCENIC ELECTRICS SUPERVISOR
Ogunquit Playhouse (Ogunquit, ME) seeks an experienced Scenic Electrics Supervisor for our 2024 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment vary per position between March and November
Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required. Prior scene shop experience is a plus.
Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):
Reports to Head Electrician
Work closely with the Associate Lighting Designer and Head Electrician to technically design, plan, cost, and build show-specific elements and effects.
Coordinate with the Technical Director and Scene Shop to plan and schedule the installation of electrics into scenic elements.
Intermediate soldering skills (for LED tape, etc) are required.
Intermediate knowledge of electrical theory and mathematics for calculating loads.
Provide final documentation of set electrics including hookups and schematics.
Technical support of set electrics during rehearsals and tech.
Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Requires the ability to sit/stand for long periods, and bend, stoop, or kneel while assisting actors, staff, and designers in the execution of duties as assigned.
Requires the ability to lift, carry, and move necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions.
Unconventional hours may be required. During the week of changeover, electrician and lighting overhire support is split between daytime and overnight shifts.
Additional Duties and Expectations:
Experience with Lightwright 6 & Vectorworks 2022 (or newer).
Support Electrics Department in pre-season setup and post-season closing of the theater.
Work alongside electricians and overhires to hang/focus and strike as needed.
Position is a W2, $23 /hour, with overtime and housing included.

Ogunquit Playhouse now offers Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly, covering 75% of employee’s company-sponsored Health insurance premiums. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
